ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kevin Hopkins grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois, and is a graduate of the Illinois State University College of Fine Arts. He’s worked as Art Director and Marketing Manager for several St. Louis-area businesses and corporations, and maintains a freelance practice as a photographer, fine artist, graphic designer, and writer.

What can I say about my work that you can’t see for yourself? In terms of subject matter, my work is all over the board. Typically, artists are defined by their medium and style of work. My work tends to lean more towards cubism and impressionism, but I always allow the idea to dictate its own embodiment.Though you are able to see specific bodies of work within my entire collection, certain characteristics within those bodies continue to evolve. This isn’t meant to keep you guessing. It’s a result of my constant evaluation and exploration of the creative process.
